Micro Laser Peel

What is it?

The Micro Laser Peel is a superficial epidermal exfoliation to a light dermal resurfacing skin treatment. The depth is controlled by the energy of the Erbium:YAG laser, and is predetermined by evaluation of patient’s desires and treatment goals.

The Erbium laser provides for ultimate precision in skin resurfacing, allowing the operator to set treatment parameters for as superficial as a 10-micron epidermal ablation to deep surgical skin resurfacing, equivalent to the depth of treatment accomplished by CO2 laser. Micro Laser Peel is the newest and most effective way presently available to treat accumulated sun damage and aging skin without the downtime of deeper surgical skin resurfacing.

Micro Laser Peel is a smoothing or polishing procedure for the skin. The goal of the procedure is removal of damage with the intent of improving vitality of the skin. Deeper treatments yield more significant improvement, but also have more downtime for healing. Uneven pigmentation, fine epidermal lines, actinic keratoses, and keratinization are significantly improved.

Micro Laser Peel is offered as an alternative to other methods of non-invasive exfoliation, such as enzymatic, alpha/beta hydroxy acid or chemical peeling. It is not intended to replace surgery, dermabrasion or ablative laser resurfacing. Surgical intervention may be necessary to treat dermal scarring or tighten loose skin.

The Micro Laser Peel is the next generation skin treatment beyond microdermabrasion, for extremely effective skin rejuvenation. Patient may discuss goals with the Physician and the Esthetician. Results will vary according to skin type and condition upon starting treatment. It is strongly recommended that a program of home skin care product usage be undertaken to further any gains made with the treatments. A series of 4 treatments at 3-month intervals is suggested, followed by a maintenance protocol of treatment and home care.

Pre-conditioning skin care program with topical products is mandatory prior to undergoing a Micro Laser Peel. This will be discussed with you at your initial consultation, by your Esthetician.

IPL
Enlightening Cream (optional)

What is it?

IPL, or “Intense Pulsed Light” systems are extraordinarily effective at treating pigmented lesions (brown spots) and diffuse redness (rosacea). The pigmented spots or redness in your skin selectively absorbs the light pulse delivered by the IPL machine, without peeling or burning.

What areas can be treated with IPL?

Virtually any part of you body with sunspots, freckles and/or redness can be treated with Intense Pulsed Light. The most popular areas for IPL treatment are the face, chest, shoulders arms and hands because they have suffered from the most sun exposure.

How many treatments of IPL will I need?

Typically, three to five IPL treatments are sufficient to see dramatic results. Additional treatments may be required for very large or dark spots or for densely covered areas.

When will I see results from IPL?

Most patients find that the majority of their treated spots have shown significant improvement within two to three weeks of treatment. However, your final result may not be apparent for a several months.
